Bailout sells out future generations: What to do.

October 9th, 2008 by Clyde Cleveland

Robert H. Hemphill, Credit Manager of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta Georgia, said:

This is a staggering thought. We are completely dependent on the commercial banks. Someone has to borrow every dollar we have in circulation, cash, or credit. If the banks create ample synthetic money, we are prosperous; if not, we starve. We are absolutely without a permanent money system. When one gets a complete grasp of the picture, the tragic absurdity of our hopeless position is almost incredible, but there it is. It is the most important subject intelligent persons can investigate and reflect upon. It is so important that our present civilization may collapse unless it becomes widely understood and the defect remedied very soon.

Dear Friends:

Many of us worked hard last week to defeat the outrageous bail-out bill. Not only did they eventually pass it, but they added another 150 billion in outrageous spending to the original 700 billion (this will actually end up being countless trillions with much of it going to foreign banks).  In one of my letters I stated that if the bail-out bill passed, the hoped for increase in stock prices would be insignificant if it happened at all. On Monday the markets showed what they thought of the bail-out bill!  And the whole situation was created in the first place by allowing our government, in association with a cartel of private bankers (The Federal Reserve), to print money at their whim for almost a century. Now, of course, the situation is much worse, we have now given the government and bankers even more authority to print even more money out of thin air.

Here is an appropriate analogy;  There has been a massive and incredibly destructive campaign of arson all over the country.  Finally, after trillions of dollars of damage is done, they find the arsonist.  He is then tried and found guilty with irrefutable evidence.  It is then up to the people’s elected representatives to make a decision of what the punishment will be.  Next, the people let their representatives know emphatically what they think, and the people of course respond with common sense, and their responses are almost 95 to 1 in favor of stopping the arsonist from ever being able to repeat his crimes again.

So the punishment is decided upon by the elected representatives…….. And their decision is to provide the arsonist with 700 billion gallons of gasoline, 150 billion matches and set him free!!

That is exactly what we did last week.  The government and FED have been printing money and creating massive debt for decades creating a horrendous monetary crisis, and they fixed the problem by giving the government even more authority to do even more of the same thing!!   And they did it with over 95% of the people telling them not to do it!

So what is positive about this situation?  The fact that so many people responded and told their representatives not to pass this bill.  Also the fact that now so many people are aware that what “we the people” say does not make any difference. Finally America is starting to wake up to the fact that we are no longer a REPUBLIC or a DEMOCRACY.  WE ARE IN FACT AN OLIGARCHY. Read the rest of this entry »

I awoke at 4:00AM and had to write this message

October 1st, 2008 by Clyde Cleveland

Dear Friends:

I awoke at 4:00 AM this morning and had to write this message.  For some reason ideas come to me about how to explain complex issues in a way that seems to help people comprehend them better.  When I get these ideas I literally cannot sit on them, I have to write them down.  That was the genesis of the book “Restoring the Heart of America” which was written in 2002 and is being released again as a revised edition in a few weeks.  That book was endorsed by Ron Paul, Governor Gary Johnson, and G. Edward Griffin.  It is also what led to the creation of COMMON SENSE; Revisited  which was just released a few weeks ago and has been endorsed by the Campaign for Liberty. http://campaignforliberty.com/blog.php?view=525#.

I believe that what we are witnessing now in our country and in the world is a rise in what is called “indigenous power”.  We are literally watching a major battle taking place in the halls of congress and the internet between rising “indigenous power” and disintegrating “surrogate power.”  Here is a beautiful quote that describes indigenous power and surrogate power:

“True power resides with God, and is indigenous thereto. Through enduring connections with the Creator, that power is transmitted to individual beings and all living things, to be held indigenously within each life. Such power can be lost or corrupted only through denials of love and separations from God, because all power from God is essentially pure. Surrogate power is delegated by man to structure, authority, and forces external to himself. Surrogate power can extend man’s influence over the environment. However, when delegated power assumes the rights of indigenous power, it corrupts very quickly. For example, when two men form a business together, they create a surrogate power. If it is understood as such and supervised equally by both, the structure they created can be useful. If one man should usurp the other and assume the delegated power only for himself, it will surely corrupt. Education of children is a surrogate power, delegated by their parents. As long as it reflects the values and wishes of the parents, that power is held in proper custody. Should it be used to undermine the indigenous power which exists between parents and children, there will be problems. A government is surrogate power, delegated by the governed. As long as it serves the needs of the governed and respects the indigenous power from which it was formed, that surrogate power can be useful. The moment surrogate power assumes the rights of indigenous power, corruption will begin. Usually this is implemented by the use of force, mandatory conformity, suppression of rights, and dishonesty. Surrogate power always draws its energy from indigenous power. When this is respected and openly acknowledged, surrogate power can be an effective extension of authority. Although, if force and dishonesty have reversed priorities to give the false impression that surrogate power is real power, you then have a situation where the flea is trying to own the dog, and enforcing its claim with threats and punishment. Under such oppressive conditions nothing works better than a declaration of sovereign rights held by indigenous power. This is the power of all true liberators. It is what the Founding Fathers did in 1776. It is what occurred with the abolition of slavery. It has happened within communities, families, careers, and personal lives. This is what happens when a person returns to the heart and activates the indigenous power established there by the Creator. Sometimes surrogate power fights back, although it never wins. For it has no authority of its own!”
From Love Without End By Glenda Green

You may want to read that quote again.  I read it over and over all the time because it so clearly establishes what is happening right now before our eyes. We have been monitoring the feedback from congressman to our friends who have been lobbying against the bailout bill. The feedback from the offices of the legislators themselves has been anywhere from a low of 30 to 1 against this bill to a high of 300 to 1 against.  That feedback is from both Democratic and Republican congressional offices around the country.  That means that at least 97 out of 100 are against this bill.  If we can assume that the calls and emails and letters represent the people of this country we could say that at least 95% of the people of this country realize how terrible this bailout bill is and are adamantly opposed to its passage!

This is an amazing response from indigenous power!  Now, on the other side, we have a fascinating coalition consisting of:  the Republican President, the  Democratic leadership, the Republican leadership, both the Democratic and Republican Presidential candidates, the Treasury department and other related bureaucrats, and of course the Federal Reserve and all their related and partially owned and controlled banks, security firms and investment banking firms. These, collectively are the representatives of surrogate power. And, as the quote above explains, surrogate power is using force, fear, mandatory conformity, suppression of rights and unbelievable levels of dishonesty in its attempt to maintain its power.

It is so clear that the Presidential candidates, our current President and the leadership of both parties are puppets and totally controlled by their masters in the power elite.  All either Obama or McCain would have to do is renounce this bail out as the fraud that it is and they would win the election.  But neither of them will do it because they are not allowed to even consider it by those who put them in a position to be elected President.  The nature of how surrogate power is organized is starting to surface as more and more people understand the nature of the Federal Reserve system and how it works.  This is a very positive development and I encourage you to learn everything you can about the Federal Reserve and constitutional monetary systems.

We all should be encouraged by what is happening now in our country.  Yes there is going to be some pain as we transition to a monetary system in tune with our Constitution and get rid of the Federal Reserve system.  When that transition is over, however, our country will witness unbelievable prosperity and freedom once again. It will be phase two of American freedom, peace and prosperity.  It is vital that we understand how freedom works and what our responsibilities are so we do not ever allow surrogate power to become so out of control again.

I urge you to do whatever you can to keep the senate and house from passing this horrendous bill.  Then I ask you to join the Campaign for Liberty; www.campaignforliberty.com and become engaged in this movement of expanding indigenous power.  In two and a half hours you can read the entire pamphlet COMMON SENSE; Revisited  which will give you an excellent perspective of how rising indigenous power can solve all of our problems much more effectively than our current top down model based on force and fear.  At the end of COMMON SENSE; Revisited  there is a list of steps and resources you can take to educate yourself and your friends so we can quickly and painlessly restore our indigenous power.  You can read the book online for free (or donation) at www.commonsenserevisited.org or you can order it and have it shipped to you.

It is my hope that you will do what Matt from Chicago did. Matt read the book and ordered 300 copies to hand out to everyone he knows. He will be placing them in beauty shops, barber shops, doctors offices, chiropractors offices, bus stations, and anywhere else he can to get the word out.  The cost of the book, if you order in bulk, is $1.00 each plus shipping.
REMEMBER;  INDIGENOUS POWER IS THE ONLY TRUE POWER ON EARTH.
SURROGATE POWER WILL FIGHT BACK, BUT IT CANNOT WIN, FOR IT HAS NO AUTHORITY OF ITS OWN!

Important message from Ron Paul

September 26th, 2008 by Eliyah Finkelstein

Written September 24, 2008

Dear Friends,

Whenever a Great Bipartisan Consensus is announced, and a compliant media assures everyone that the wondrous actions of our wise leaders are being taken for our own good, you can know with absolute certainty that disaster is about to strike.

The events of the past week are no exception.

The bailout package that is about to be rammed down Congress’ throat is not just economically foolish. It is downright sinister. It makes a mockery of our Constitution, which our leaders should never again bother pretending is still in effect. It promises the American people a never-ending nightmare of ever-greater debt liabilities they will have to shoulder. Two weeks ago, financial analyst Jim Rogers said the bailout of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac made America more communist than China! “This is welfare for the rich,” he said. “This is socialism for the rich. It’s bailing out the financiers, the banks, the Wall Streeters.”

That describes the current bailout package to a T. And we’re being told it’s unavoidable.

The claim that the market caused all this is so staggeringly foolish that only politicians and the media could pretend to believe it. But that has become the conventional wisdom, with the desired result that those responsible for the credit bubble and its predictable consequences - predictable, that is, to those who understand sound, Austrian economics - are being let off the hook. The Federal Reserve System is actually positioning itself as the savior, rather than the culprit, in this mess!

  • The Treasury Secretary is authorized to purchase up to $700 billion in mortgage-related assets at any one time. That means $700 billion is only the very beginning of what will hit us.
  • Financial institutions are “designated as financial agents of the Government.” This is the New Deal to end all New Deals.
  • Then there’s this: “Decisions by the Secretary pursuant to the authority of this Act are non-reviewable and committed to agency discretion, and may not be reviewed by any court of law or any administrative agency.” Translation: the Secretary can buy up whatever junk debt he wants to, burden the American people with it, and be subject to no one in the process.

There goes your country.

Even some so-called free-market economists are calling all this “sadly necessary.” Sad, yes. Necessary? Don’t make me laugh.

Our one-party system is complicit in yet another crime against the American people. The two major party candidates for president themselves initially indicated their strong support for bailouts of this kind - another example of the big choice we’re supposedly presented with this November: yes or yes. Now, with a backlash brewing, they’re not quite sure what their views are. A sad display, really.

Although the present bailout package is almost certainly not the end of the political atrocities we’ll witness in connection with the crisis, time is short. Congress may vote as soon as tomorrow. With a Rasmussen poll finding support for the bailout at an anemic seven percent, some members of Congress are afraid to vote for it. Call them! Let them hear from you! Tell them you will never vote for anyone who supports this atrocity.

The issue boils down to this: do we care about freedom? Do we care about responsibility and accountability? Do we care that our government and media have been bought and paid for? Do we care that average Americans are about to be looted in order to subsidize the fattest of cats on Wall Street and in government? Do we care?

When the chips are down, will we stand up and fight, even if it means standing up against every stripe of fashionable opinion in politics and the media?

Times like these have a way of telling us what kind of a people we are, and what kind of country we shall be.

In liberty,

Ron Paul

COMMON SENSE; Revsited

September 17th, 2008 by Clyde Cleveland

If you have not yet heard there is a fantastic new publication available that is going to have a powerful impact on public awareness,  It is called COMMON SENSE; Revsited and the first six pages can be read for free at www.commonsenserevisited.org You can also order in quantity from this site and share this excellent pamphlet with everyone you know.  It is designed to transform hearts and minds.   Here are the most recent comments from readers:

“Common Sense Revisited is as inspirational as it is pragmatic.  This accessible, illuminating work will effectively awaken those who don’t realize how precarious our personal freedoms are today.  And for those who know how deep the American crisis really is, CSR is an outstanding tool to help save our future generations and restore the liberties and prosperity we take for granted.”
Todd McGreevy, Publisher, River Cities’ Reader

“The author of ‘Common Sense Revisited’ has transmitted a glorious melange of personal, professional, psychological, philosophical and political attitudes which magnificently represent the human condition.  This ‘common sense’ approach to life is our last best shot at resurrecting our political freedoms in America and our collective ‘joie de vivre’.”
Richard V. Campagna, Libertarian Candidate for U.S. Vice President, 2004 Badnarik/Campagna

“I wish this pamphlet was required reading for anyone that can vote! So much comprehensive knowledge is packed into this little pamphlet. I agree with the author - it is each individual’s responsibility to educate themselves and those close to them.  It is impossible to read this without feeling a shift in your heart regarding your own power as an individual.  From reading this you begin to cognize that you, as an individual, should  really be the master, and not the servant, of government.   We can no longer afford to be apathetic.”
Susie Zolo, Marketing Executive

“Common Sense Revisited is a terrific text to help spread the message of liberty. It is comprehensive, very compelling and a smooth quick read that is perfect for introducing our sacred philosophy to others. I am using it on campus, it is the perfect way to market the freedom message to students. It is sure to swell the ranks of liberty lovers everywhere.”
Jeff Shipley, Student Liberty Advocate

“As a 19 year old, I am deeply concerned about the future of my country. I will be inheriting a massive federal debt, a polluted environment, and lost civil liberties and personal freedom. Common Sense; Revisited, is so concise and eloquent, it puts a shining spark of hope in my heart for the future. Let us follow this advice and once again become the land of the free and home of the brave.”
Eliyah Finkelstein, Entrepreneur and Small Business Owner

“I believe that when Americans read this clearly written, accessible and spiritually beautiful pamphlet, they will gain an empowering vision of their self as an ideal citizen and as the means to create the ideal in every facet of society.  Our path to personal happiness and functional (fulfilling) government by the people is, as the author implies, just common sense.”

Rally for the Republic

September 10th, 2008 by Corey Morrow

Last Tuesday Edward Noyes, Clyde Cleveland, Jonny Cook (who is our web developer) and myself were in Minneapolis, MN. at the Rally for the Republic.  The event lasted three days including the rally itself, a political training school, and a leadership conference.  The four of us were there representing RHA, our new book, and RHA’s new Constitutional education program for every county.  Many of you have already asked about this program.  More information is coming soon!  We are developing a coherent package and refining our curriculum so that every county leader can effectively and autonomously work with their community.

During the rally, we had the pleasure of meeting so many intelligent, independent, freedom-loving people.  We heard incredible speeches by Jesse Ventura, Ron Paul, and others.  We spoke with many organizations, big and small, who are doing what they can to restore the original, beautiful vision of the United States of America.  The event was personally inspiring to all of us, and I wanted to take this opportunity to thank all of your for your support and enthusiasm thus far.  Many of you have given us comments, criticism, time and money in helping us get off the ground.  Thank you! I’d like to leave you with a quote from Thomas Jefferson which recently caught my attention:

“Enlighten the people generally, and tyranny and oppressions of body and mind will vanish like evil spirits at the dawn of day.” - Thomas Jefferson

Education as the Means

August 27th, 2008 by Clyde Cleveland

Moving our country toward peace, freedom, and prosperity is going to take some work.  It can be done and will be done but education is the key. I want to bring two excellent websites with outstanding educational materials to your attention.  http://www.republicmagazine.com

This site offers the monthly magazine of the organization started by Aaron Russo, Restore the Republic.  Every month they come out with a magazine that is full of well researched articles that relate to restoring constitutional government.  I personally buy at least 25 copies every month and hand them out to as many people as I can.  I highly recommend that you go to this site and purchase their new issue and any of the past issues that peak your interest.  The issue on the income tax is really well done. It includes articles by people like Joe Bannister who won a very significant court case against the IRS this year.  You won’t hear about this in the main stream papers.  These magazines are great for spreading the freedom message and you can buy at bulk rates that are extremely reasonable.

In September Restore the Republic will feature COMMON SENSE REVISITED  a 48 page magazine which is designed to create a phase transition in our country just like COMMON SENSE by Thomas Paine did in 1776.  You can read the first two chapters of COMMON SENSE REVISITED  right now by going to www.commonsenserevisited.org This pamphlet will be a fantastic educational tool for you to use to change hearts and minds.

The Evil of our Current Monetary System

August 19th, 2008 by Clyde Cleveland

I have been finding that there is one issue, the evil nature of our current monetary system, that brings people from different political perspectives together. This provides us with a tremendous opportunity to create a consensus among a huge number of people and then focus that political power to take a very specific action. Eliminating the Fed is going to take some major work and major education, but passing the following two bills that have been introduced in Congress would be a big step in the right direction. Please call your congressman and ask them to cosponsor these bills. Tell all of your friends to do this and get the word out.

The two bills are the “Honest Money Act” (HR 2756), and the “Free Competition in Currency Act” (HR 4683). You can go to this website http://www.downsizedc.org/etp/campaigns/85 to find out about these bills and send your congressman a message. The education on this issue is critical so tell your friends to read these two books on line for free:

Of all the things we can do to put our country in tune with fundamental principles of natural law there is nothing more important than getting the monetary system fixed. Let’s create a groundswell of support for these two bills and we will have taken a major step toward restoring the heart of America.

Special Links for Radio Interview

August 15th, 2008 by Clyde Cleveland
This additional blog post is here as a reference to anyone and everyone who would like to learn more about our country’s monetary policy and the reasons behind its shortcomings and in particular for those who will be listening to an interview i’ll be doing in St. Louis about monetary policy, education and solutions. Here are the links and brief descriptions of some powerful educational tools:
  • Money Masters Video
This is a 3.5 hour documentary style video on the history of central banking, and is a very well produced, credible presentation. We suggest listening to this several times, one time is not enough. You can go to their site and order the DVD, it is also on Youtube as well and the second link below may be available for free viewing.
(Official site of The Money Masters production)
(The Money Masters video)

  • The following two outstanding books present a different solution than the one presented in The Money Masters video. It is very important to get this perspective as the plan presented in the Money Masters video is not necessarily in tune with the founders’ belief in a currency backed by something with intrinsic value. It is going to be up to “we the people” to decide what we are going to replace our current monetary system with so this is essential reading.
  1. What Has Government Done to Our Money? (available free at http://mises.org/rothbard/rothmoney.pd)
  2. The Case for Gold, by Ron Paul (available free at http://www.mises.org/books/caseforgold.pdf)
  • The first step to eliminating the current corrupt system is getting these two bills passed. Please go to the website below and read about these bills and if you are supportive please tell your representatives in Congress that you want them to co-sponsor both of these bills so we can end legal tender laws and permit the private coining of money.
  • Another one of our favorite books on the Federal Reserve: The Creature from Jekyl Island, A Second Look at the Federal Reserve by G. Edward Griffin www.realityzone.com
And the following link presents a brief 15 page proposal for comprehensive monetary reform presented to the Reagan administration. www.nccs.net/monetary_reform.html

Environmental Management

August 13th, 2008 by Clyde Cleveland
The point that is never discussed in the MSM regarding global warming is the total futility of dealing with enviromental problems from the top down. The involvement of world government in the management of global warming will be even more counterproductive than relying on the federal government. The Kyoto agreement, for example, results in a loss of money and sovereignty for all the so-called developed nations that participate while giving incentives to the worst polluters to do nothing to improve. Under this agreement, China is considered an undeveloped nation, even though it is now the biggest polluting country in the world! So what is it really about? It is always about money at the federal and global levels; the Kyoto plan will require potentially hundreds of billions of dollars to be paid by developing nations to underdeveloped nations. Those hundreds of billions, (which will end up being trillions) are not to be paid directly from one nation to another. The money will be paid to the World Bank! Top-down, command-and-control, force-based schemes, politically and financially motivated by the special interests who control political entities like the EPA, FDA, and the U.N., which serves as banker under the Kyoto plan, will never accomplish their altruistic stated goals. They will, in fact, just make matters worse.

Consider the difference in environmental quality between
West Germany and East Germany before they were united, and
between North Korea and South Korea. In a free society, the
people have at least some control over the situation and will
demand some level of action regarding damage to the environment.
In North Korea and East Germany, where the people had
absolutely no ability to demand anything, environmental damage
has been extreme compared to their free counterparts.
A government that has no accountability to the people is
never a good steward of the environment.
